The UN does not run any of these places., They have just put them down on a list of places that someone believes have importance to the world. It is like the 100 things to see before you die -- just because someone puts it on their list, does not mean they have any rights or control. People fight to get on the silly list because it promotes tourism.

You should know how government works, it's simple, if UNESCO says this and that needs to be done then that's what will happen with that property. They manage the properties..... they've even had parts of properties shut down before (no people allowed) that's international control of property in the US... it's against the law!
