More unrealistic political posturing through cartoonage, how refreshing.

Since congress has been largely democrat in the recent past, and certainly overpoweringly so at present, this means the democratic congress has had to be onboard for funding of these military actions (not truly wars any more than was Viet Nam was as war's never been congressionally declared, a must to actually be a war) and the grand puppetmaster has approved more troops/campaigns, and hence expenditures, since stepping into the office. But I guess that little bit of truth isn't really worth mentioning by the dems these days as it's totally inconvenient to their recent posturing.

As usual, more blather from all those wonderful folks looking to disguise and misrepresent the truth as they attempt to gain sympathy and promote agreement with their agendized legislation that we as a country can't afford, all while attempting to vilify those who stand in opposition to it as war mongerers, which in reality they are as well, another inconvenient truism.

I still have that nice crispy Grant in case any of you libs wanna take my bet .... any takers grinning smiley

In the end the US is just too divided down the middle between liberals and conservatives to ever get anything productive done anymore... we have the same issue up here in Canada right now too. Unfortunately I think it's going to be a long long time before either nation ever comes together enough to make real headway.

If you ever watch a tug-of-war you'll see that a lot of people end up grunting and straining until they are all exhausted and in the end really no one went anywhere. They should just all sit down and have a beer.

I see this as a case of "the pot calling the kettle black". No racial slur intended. Both are too expensive and have failings and necessities. Don't believe everything the mainstream media is feeding us. It makes great press to show the far left vs. the far right. Most people are in the middle some were.

until Americans realise that the 2 parties don't give a fuck about them, only their own ruling class, we will be slaves to their reality.

Cool. Fossil said wrote some bombastic that I totally agree with. The political parties serve themselves and their masters. The "american people" are just a means to and end.

O man, by your comments one might think you find my posted political cartoons less than true. Is that what you're alluding to? I personally find much more truth to them than fiction. Of course that's a given, I posted 'em.

To stay on target here though let's get back to the topic which is that this particular cartoonist has sought to obviously say that the dems are guiltless in regard to the military campaigns, which is far from what is reality. This same line of reasoning is then being used to vilify the reps as being against the public welfare because they simply choose not to support a financially insupportable piece of legislation that the American taxpayers all across the US have protested vehemently against.

THIS is my issue with this particular cartoon.

BTW, my personal position for some time has been to bring all our troops home and let the rag heads sort out their own shit since it's really none of our business what they do to one another.

I also see the Dems and Repubs as both bent on the subjugation of the American people and hell yeah, we are truly supplin the means for them to do so.

I will do my part to unseat EVERY incumbent in the coming elections in hopes our legislators will get a hint that "we the people" are dissatisfied with their performance monty

Nah it has nothing to do with whether I think they are true or not. It has to do with the implication that political cartoons are ever anything other than 'political posturing'. No complete political argument, facts, and summary will ever come out of a political cartoon. They are ALWAYS exactly what you called it... political 'one shot' posturing, no matter which side of the opinion they fall on. They have been that since their inception almost by definition.

And Fossil, I agree there too.

Whether political cartoons are indeed "posturing" is an absolute affirmative. This however does not negate their message, so long as the message is based in truth.

The point I was making in regards to this particular one is that it's NOT based in truth and as such couches incorrect logic and accountability, which I stand firmly against winking

The basis of the cartoon is in facts and logic. The facts are that the healthcare reform is likely to be terribly expensive; and we do spend a very large sum of money on the military. The logic is that different people can look at the same numbers and draw different conclusions. It is as easy to imagine people who are shocked at the potential healthcare costs and feel alright about military spending as it is to imagine people who would feel the other way.

Mr Kim you have the right idea, I just hope everyone else votes all incumbents out of office also, but that is not going to happen because too many people listen to mainstream media.

I didn't comment at the time, but since you asked:
1.As they listen to talk radio on (federal) government regulated airwaves

Note I added federal because the FCC performs this function. I disagree with the idea that the federal government has any valid jurisdiction over the airwaves granted to them constitutionally

2. In a vehicle from a government bailed out company

The bailout was NOT anything I approve of and again the fed had no authority to bail out anyone, it's NOT their job nor function.

3. Driving on a government built highway

Yep, this is one I'll agree with as it serves as a boon to intrastate, interstate and international commerce. This is a function the fed actually has a reasonable claim to authorize and maintain.

4. This publicly educated family

Public education is fine so long as it's implemented, regulated and controlled by the states with NO participation(aka meddling/arm twisting/dangling the carrot routine) by the fed. Education falls outside the rights assured the fed constitutionally so by default those rights belong to the states, not the federal govt.

5.Is sipping water from a municipal system.

Each individual state has the right to regulate water supply legislation and if the state wants they can also delegate all concerns regarding water to local municipalities or even private contractors. My water actually comes from a coop/for profit privately owned company.

6.On its way to vacation at a national park

This is kinda iffy but ... as vacations in national parks can lead folks to travel between states and thereby share things with members of other states this is a good thing nationally. These same national parks also encourage hundreds of thousands if not more annually to visit them and the US as a whole from abroad which stimulates the economy (a real function of the fed) and also encourages other socialization with the tourists that in some way is beneficial nationally.

There ya have it winking
