Yeah...we don't want big government standing between us and our doctors...we want big insurance companies making the decision whether we need treatment or not! (*horse*)

I can see your point..........oh wait I have Government run health car it's called the VA and I have a very good idea of what we are in for with Obama care..... Very little care, especially if you are over 50. Explain that away.handjob

Hey "nameless one", cute, kinda rhymes with "brainless one", but sounds like it's coming from someone else here .... things that make you go Hmmm.

Is it really so hard to imagine a system where taxpayers get older and retire, then become a total drain on the system as they now pay less into the kitty for their health care and have little or no income to tax anymore but cost waaaaaaay more for their mounting health care needs, is it so hard to perceive how their concerns would be back burnered within the system, I mean afterall, they're old, they've had a good run and can't live forever, so why worry so much about 'em anyway, right?

Shades of "Logans Run" come to mind and it's not all that hard to envision if you think about it.

Government run health care for everyone under the fed system bears an amazing resemblance to "Brown 25" from the Groove Tube winking

You have a truly amazing mind…. Everything we have come to expect from a well educated leftist from some university. I would like to be there when you are a drain on society and get shit for health care after you put into the system for years paying for all the welfare baby’s and do nothings. Your parents must be proud of their little Marx brother. Collectivism has never worked and it never.

Jeez dude, I don't think I do, so .... why don't you give us all a lesson in what a communist is. What I really wanna know too is WTF a Marxism is.

Maybe Capitolism is dead, but Capitalism is just on the ropes at the moment.

But .. some of us still do like our Confederate flags. If you have some problem with my right to appreciate the Confederate flag then you can ... (*butt*)

Isn't a Marxism something that was said by one of the Marx brothers, or, in Harpo's case, tooted on a horn?

Maybe some of you think that when people turn 65 they should just be shot. Oh sorry, hung, some of you don't believe in using guns.

Of course having Karl Marx is a bit of a red herring. There is no way we would ever go that far. Mr.Kim's Logan's run vision is probably more like what we are headed for, except that th emagic age will be 80 rather than 30 and you would be scaled back over a few years rather than immediately.

More importantly, is Mr Kim talking about the TV series Logan's run or the movie. The TV version is probably closer. They had that solar car and all . . .

I never saw the Tv version of Logans Run blinky (can't stomach the mind numbing, lack of real content stuff that passes for entertainment in that medium) so I can't comment. I don't think 80 yrs old would have any type of significant impact on the population though as few get there these days, maybe more like 70.

There's a lotta folks I'd pay for tickets to "Carousel" to watch 'em rise up and get zapped though. The worst part though is that I'd miss seein all my exses since they're all younger than myself sad

I think it would be more like they would put an RFID chip under your skin that can monitor your vital signs. When your health degrades to the point where it's no longer cost effective to provide health care for you it would send out a signal. That's when they would hunt you down and snag you for disposal.

When my dad was born in 1908 the average life expectancy was around 47 years. He was 80 when he died. I've passed that 47 year mark and sometimes with the way things are getting I feel like I'm living on borrowed time, like we're about to start slipping backwards.

The way things are going now we may wish we died at 47 pretty soon.
