Ummm...there are snakes on the pic above - on the Queensland coast just below Steve Irwin. (*facepalm*)

Thing is quasi, you's still have to drive a long way or be very lucky/unlucky to see anything wild.
Croc's eat tourists all the time but snakes, sharks & spiders mind thier own business.
The box jellyfish is the one that spooks me.
