Through some VERY careful parts shoppin I managed to assemble myself a new Intel i7 940 machine in an Antec Nine Hundred gamer case with 6gigs of DDR3 1333mhz RAM (still have 3 empty slots on the board!), MSI X58 Platinum MoBo, 1200 watt power supply, MSI N9400GT video card with 1gig DDR2 onboard RAM, a wicked CPU cooler and Rosewill card reader for about $1000. I did however re-use the 500gig Toshiba SATA II HD and SATA II DVD-RW drive from my old machine.

I gotta say this is one wickedly fast mosheen and I haven't even touched any of the overclocking goodies yet smiling bouncing smiley

Antec 900 cases... the only case I'll buy these days. All my servers run in those. Nice built!

Thanks O man! Though I've seen the 900s at Frys and read tons about 'em and peoples builds with 'em this is the 1st one I've built and you're right, they're an awesome case design.

This one is a replacement for a 2.13ghz Core 2 Duo machine I built about 2 years ago into a Cooler Master Wavemaster all aluminum case and as much as I loved the Wavemaster case, which is actually almost a piece of metallic art as well as a computer case, it was tough to finally retire it.

One of the deciding factors in making the transition was the noise from the fans as the Wavemaster case only supported 80mm fans and they're not anything close to as quiet as the newer 120s (and larger like in the top of the 900). I have owned this Cooler Master case for about 6yrs now and it was still hard to decide to go with a different design. The all aluminum design of the Wavemaster went a long way towards keepin everything cool inside, though I think the new 900 will do an even better job winking

In all honesty I could do without the "bling" factor all the lasers mounted in the fans give this case and I'd have been just as happy with the build if they weren't there at all. On the upside though this case now lights my office up with a cool bluish glow at night .... like it was when I fired this puppy up at 2 somethin am this morning eye
