PHOTOSHOPPED

Why is there reflection of the people but not the building?
No drain holes, this would be a nice big bucket when it rains.

first off, this is not photoshopped. they don't allow ps to be used on plus613.

and that is where the drain holes are and why you didn't see the building reflection.thumbs

I have to go with 3D rendered, and very well done at that. Several reasons, the people just don't look right, especially the hand of the girl on the right and the girl at the bottom. They appear to be 3D models. Also the glass structure itself... there is no support, just tempered glass bolted to a wall within 2 inches of its edge. No cantilevering, no support beam, no guy wires under the floor. This would never pass certification to be built as they don't make a tempered glass that strong... yet.

All said though, kudos to the 3D artist... well done.

Have you guys ever actually picked up a camera? A camera with the lens pulled right back will give a distorted look (a fisheye lens is the extreme of this). As for support of the balcony - you can't actually see the top of the glass except at the front.

A fisheye would also have bent the line of the glass at the top of the picture but it's perfectly straight. A wide angle was used to take the photo below, the rest I still think was rendered on top of it. As for support, there would still have to be a beam or something around the perimeter of the floor. Tempered glass just can't be used as it's shown here without being framed in. As a wall, sure, but not as an unsupported floor.

@GAK - I have picked up a camera and I do so everyday for a living and I also use photoshop everyday.

Have you ever used google? Maybe you should to learn these balcony's haven't been installed yet and this is just an artists impression of what they will look like when attached to Willis Tower (formerly Sears) in June 2009

Kin - Thanks for shedding the light on the subject - I did not google it, although I am not sure what I would have put in as the search string. I was not arguing that this was a real photo, but that the reasons given for claiming it was 'shopped' did not stack up.

what got me was the guy with the camera on the left is taking a picture of something in front of himself, the same thing he could had taken from inside behind a window. the biggie thin would have been taking a picture looking down but not out frontthumbs

it's a protruding sheet of glass, and the people are a digitally inserted reflection of the people looking out the window.
