my Mom made me go to crutch with the family when I was a kid...one time when I was around 15 years old we were at crutch and everybody was going in and sitting down and the service was about to start..this scruffy looking old vagrant came in and sat down in the back row, he reeked of alcohol and cigarettes..four of the deacons surrounded him and told him that he had to leave...I thought what the fuck?? that guy needs to be here more than anyone else and you kick him out?? is that would jesus would do???
I told my Mom that I wasn't going to crutch anymore...and I haven't since.

I have to agree with this that a lot of "christains" don't do enough to help the poor, homeless, prisoners, ect.

There are some that do though and many churches that use some of the tithes and offerings to feed the poor, help the homeless and needy ect.

I don't want to seem like a braggart or expect this to impress anyone,...but,... I have been to many prisons, but never as a prisoner. I have worked in homless shelters feeding the needy, given away closets full of clothing and canned food to places that donate them to homless people according to need. I have on some occasions helped them directly, and I am not talking about just giving them a couple of dollars, but taking them home to get cleaned up, giving them something clean to wear and taking them out to eat and talking to them for an hour or 3. Many have some rather interesting stories about how they got into such a desperate situation. (some are actually well off and take money as a scam, they accept nothing but donations)

I ask the image poster and the repliers,... how many times you have driven by and never lifted a finger to help? On top of that never even acknowleged God at all, or ever prayed for any of these people. Some of you are so clearly reprobate (look it up if you don't know what that means)

True many Some church goers may be hippocrites, but,... (and this is a direct Biblical quote),.. Those who are planted in the House of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

I am sorry to see that pro_junior went to a crutch and not a church. People in need have come to my church and received the help they were willing to take from us. We don't turn them away because they didn't meet the dress code.

Lexx, you don't need to hide because you are trying to help. We need more people like you in the world.

I don't feel the need to hide and I am not ashamed of what I believe or have done.

It's just that we have certain people on this site that will virtually rip you a new one for showing any kind of traditional Christian beliefs and have an argument against anything you say.

Also it is not by works, lest any man should boast and I know better than to flaunt any good deeds I have done; especially for personal reward so I usually never talk about it. However in this case I thought it appropriate to point out that some Christians do stop at places like mentioned in this picture and do help the needy.

I find it ironic that people use this to attack "hypocritical" Christians because they don't see them stopping at these places and helping on their way to worship; yet I would bet every one of those condemning them have driven by them too and never once even thought of stopping and donating their time, money and material possesions to help.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Really you would only have a right to condemn some Christians for ignoring places like these if you regularly stopped and did those things yourself and I doubt many do.

The only person who needs to know the good deeds you do is God and he already knows.

you people crack up. if you want to help a homeless person, help him/her get a place to live (public housing etc...), help them find some job. hell, buy 'em an apartment, but giving them a meal and some religion "talk" b.s. to "chew on" is not going to do anything at all except contribute to that persons fall. get off your high horses ya god fearing (fill in your own adjective) people and pony up some real sympathy. eye
