Nostalgia's great and all quasi but all metal interiors, non-collapsible steering columns and unpadded steering wheels all led to lots of serious injuries and deaths in the event of a serious accident and as you and I both know, the shown seat-belts are a retrofitted item these trucks never even dreamed of coming installed with.

While such a truck also didn have A/C, this one dudn even look like it has heat either, and even if it did, with no real insulation installed in these things interiors and all that metal they damned sure wouldn't be very effective at keepin ya warm thumbs

as the owner of an ex-military land rover with no insulation and small holes around all the non-well-fitting panels I can say that there is no difference in winter compared to modern cars, just as long as the heater has approximately the same power as the sun. Up close. During a solar flare. Or when it goes super-nova. Otherwise it's pretty roasting on a cold day. winking

I know a Texas winter dudn come close to bein cold either, but imagine tryin to herd along one of these things on a brisk Montana winter mornin. I bet it would leave one wishin for a bit more in the heating and insulation department tongue

In my youth I had a '57 Chevy which even when the blower on the heater did work was pretty pathetic at keeping things warm. I remember driving down the road with temps well below freezing having to stick my head out the window to see where I was going because the defroster just couldn't keep up. Brrrrrrr. At least I had hair then, and lots of it - hey, it was the 70's.
