I befriended an E-7 at Fort Campbell,Ky. In the early 70s that owned one of these. It was a blast! When it was running tip top. When it was not it stalled a lot on the interstate. I recall the two of us pushing it off the exit ramps to repair it. But all and all I wish I could own one today!

i never owned one either, but my buddy in H.S. had a pantera 351 cleveland (not detomasso) and a '72-'73? cougar with the same engine. kinda funny both cars never were runnin' at the same time.

My friend and I were both Ch-47 Chinook Mechs. We were always working on stuff which I think made the DeTomaso easy for us to deal to deal with..His was a 1972.

my clearest memory of that car is sitting at a light one night and my other buddy pulls up out of nowhere in his rag ass cutlass supreme he had "tweeked", and off we went 40-50-60 still close, the a BOOM and the cutlass lurched 2 then 3 car lenghths, and BOOM! that thing was a fireball. we pulled over pulled him out, he was fine but eyes as big as saucers. it turns out this fool had just rigged up a nos system on basicaly a stock cutlass.

I'm an Aussie who has dreamed about owning a Pantera most of my life. The sad reality is that I'll never afford to buy one. Those that have one, enjoy!

Yes please post the photos.....My friends 1972 DeTomaso Pantera was purchased by Him for around 10 thousand dollars(american) back in 72. At the time was a lot of money for an Auto. He claimed he had a rich wife. in the Mid 70s a Sargent first Class in the U.S. Army earned about 6 hundred dollars per month. I often wonder if he still as the thing. It would be worth a lot on todays market.
