It is a pity that the people of the USA do not realize that although they are voting for president of the US, they forget that the said president is almost the president of the world.
By this I mean that he is the most powerful individual on the planet (except maybe Oprah W.).

This has the effect that the president of the USA is voted in on his/her domestic policy whereas they may not have a clue about international problems. I could name a few US presidents lately that started office as complete virgins in international matters.
The end result is that they do things to please their domestic opinions, while at the same time screwing the rest of the world quite royally.

Maybe our problem is not that the president elects don't have foreign policy experience,maybe our problem is we are only able to elect politicians. There was a time when any ordinary joe could get elected as president but now only rich people can get elected. When ordinary people become politicians their common sense just goes away. We don't need a president who has international policy experience, we need presidents with common sense and no political parties which push their adgendas.
