Unfortunatley the black Dodge Charger was the vehicle of choice for both the badguy and the hero in thousands of movies. This one looks like a 73 with a police spotlight.
We are gonna need a hint.

Plymouth Fury

Hints:

It's from 1974

The movie isn't too famous but the main actor is.

Part of the movie title is the same as a U.S.
warplane.

That's not a plymouth Fury.
You are thinking of Christine.
Although that movie did have an R/T Charger in it but it was dark blue.

Make & Model aside, this car was from Thunderbolt & Lightfoot.

Way to go Harvey! nice clues eh? smiling
smiley

As far as the car debate goes:

1.I know my musclecars; from 1964 to 1971.Thats when
the era ended with H/P reductions&smog control.

2.I had no idea what the car in the movie was but
I was almost positive it wasn't a dodge charger.

3.I don't know diddly about plymouth furys but the
photo I stumbled across was linked to this Plymouth fan.Maybe he is wrong I really don't know.

From the tail lights it looks like a Plymouth Polara to me

Hardly conclusive...

...but you can see the horozontal line of the rear quarter panel. This model hardly resembles the original fury but it did keep the dual headlights and vertical tail lights.

This is the car from the orignal Themal and Louise movie made in the mid 70's. It starred 2 black actresses and was shot in Vegas. This is the car they toured around in. The shot above is from the final scene were they go over the cliff.
15 years later the movie was remade and was a much bigger hit, 2 white girls replacing the coloured girls.
