Really? There's a world of difference between thinking and knowing. If you wish to be objective, stand back and take a long, hard look at the world in its entirety, something American's are not noted for doing.

I'll just comment that the /people/ of the US, while a bit slow and culturally obtuse, tend to be good-hearted people. That is also true of anywhere you go in the world... the real people, are actually very good, welcoming people.
It's the political leaders and the religious types that give the US a bad name. And it's pretty bad these days.
